Today I had to do something a bit crazy: create a searchable layer over a Google Map. I generally don't get APIs made by Google, they are not much better than YOUTUBE APIs. They are basically nonsense and about as easy to understand as a joke made in ancient greek. I had been using version 2 of the Google Maps API. It was old, a bit complex, but it was working for me. Today I thought it was about time to move on, so I started working on version 3.

It's a big day in Old Hat HQ with the launch of the myeircom dashboard. It's taken over 6 months of blood, sweat and tears (but surprisingly little swearing) to get from initial concepts to finished product. The dashboard, which is available for all eircom customers offers a complete overview of their account including phone bill, broadband usage, products, orders and faults.
