Phew! It's been a crazy couple of weeks here in Old Hat Towers creating the nominee profile videos for the Meteor Choice Music Prize live event. If you were there on the night we hope you enjoyed the clips and had as much fun watching them as we did making them. We'll be uploading everything to our Vimeo account over the next few days but in the meantime here's a little something we didn't have time for on the night.

Today I had to do something a bit crazy: create a searchable layer over a Google Map.
I generally don't get APIs made by Google, they are not much better than YOUTUBE APIs. They are basically nonsense and about as easy to understand as a joke made in ancient greek.
I had been using version 2 of the Google Maps API. It was old, a bit complex, but it was working for me. Today I thought it was about time to move on, so I started working on version 3.

It's a big day in Old Hat HQ with the launch of the myeircom dashboard. It's taken over 6 months of blood, sweat and tears (but surprisingly little swearing) to get from initial concepts to finished product. The dashboard, which is available for all eircom customers offers a complete overview of their account including phone bill, broadband usage, products, orders and faults.
